Introduction: For explanation of fair use and copyright law as they apply to our digital practices, click the link below to view a summary of The Code of Best Practices in Fair Use for Media Literacy Education.
Step 1: Create a page on your wiki titled "Copyright Rules and Images." Remember to choose "edit navigation" and use the double brackets when typing the name of your page!
Step 2: Create a 2 x 2 table on the "Copyright Rules and Images" page.
Step 3: Find an image from a copyright friendly source. Post the image in the top left cell of your table. Under the image, add the link to the image, and explain what you must do in order to properly use the image. Include all necessary information.
Step 4: Find a copyrighted image. Post the image in the top right cell of your table. Under the image, add the link to the image, and explain how you will use the image so that it falls under "fair use." Include all necessary information.
Step 5: Design your own picture. In the lower left cell of your table, "design" an image that you may take yourself. Be creative, symbolic, unique! Remember, just because you are studying the coral reefs does not mean you have to travel to the Carribean!
Step 6: Asking permission. In the lower right cell of your table, link to a copyrighted image. Explain how you would go about acquiring permission to use the image as part of your work. Include all necessary information.

Critique: What message does this picture give? Students seem to be trying, going through there papers an being focus. But what is the teacher doing? What part do teachers play in the achievement gap. If the teacher is not paying these students any attention then how can they thrive? Look at this class room, outdated and unorganized. The students desk are crowded and they have no room to organize their things.

This picture is an example of one of the supplies I'm collecting for the drive. It is a basic need for girls going to college.
